I. M. Pyramid, Paris

Louvre Pyramid: Color, Light, Shadow

The Louvre Pyramid and Courtyard at Golden Hour

The view from this side of the Pyramid is fantastic at sunset and I’m sitting on a low wall while photographers gather near me for excellent photographic prospects, indeed! I’ve taken a sunset photo here before – was it the year before last? – from this side, but I was further back, through the arch of the clock tower. I love that photo but this one is altogether different.

A child climbs up next to me, a little boy, loving the Pyramid (or the ferris wheel beyond). He says instinctively, “Oh my God. Oh my God.” Then his father, speaking an unknown tongue, calls him to turn around for a family photo…

Yes: “Oh my God…”

  3. Marvelous photo… I think it is so neat as the Pyramid has become an icon or symbol of the Louvre itself.
Merci beaucoup, Renate… Best regards, Aquileana 😛

    • Thank you, Aquileana. It is ironic, yes, but it has indeed become a symbol of the Louvre. Those naysayers, ah, it reminds be of those who at first hated La Tour Eiffel!

My best to you, as well!
